Position: Recovery Support Specialist
Location: Plymouth, MN
Intermittent: Less than 20 hours per week (fill in all shifts as needed)

Reports to: Recovery Support Staff Supervisor

We especially need overnight and weekend full time, part-time and relief staff – especially if certified as a Trained Medical Assistant (TMA). The Recovery Support Specialist position will be paid an additional $5.00/hr. for any hours worked as a certified TMA/responsible staff person.
Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management Center (formerly Mission Care Detox Center), opened in 1978 as Minnesota’s first licensed detoxification program. Forty years later, our facility continues to be a leader and innovator in Minnesota’s early recovery community, operating as one of the state’s first withdrawal management programs. Currently under renovations, there has been no more exciting time to join our team as we restore our facility, rebuild our programming and pioneer best practices for this emerging field.

Job Summary
As a member of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, the Recovery Support Staff will assist in the withdrawal management care of patients as requested, maintain high standards of care, and provide chemical dependency education to patients, families, and the general public.
Supervision: Reports directly to the Recovery Support Staff Supervisor.
Please note: anticipated start date will be February 2022, dependent upon Program’s reopening.
Position Responsibilities
- Admit and discharge patients according to established procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collect patient data in record.
- Orient patients to unit rules, procedures, and Client Rights.
- Observe and chart patient behaviors.
- Conduct routine checks of facility and patients. .
- Follow directions of the nurse in carrying out nursing procedures and to participate in
- programming as requested.
- Attend all staff meetings, in-service trainings, and quarterly emergency procedure reviews.
- Be sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of residents and their families, and act in ways that project fairness and equality.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Be free of substance use problems for at least one year immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Must also maintain freedom from chemical use problems as a condition of continued employment.
- Upon employment, successful completion of Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management Center training, including ability to perform basic health assessment, first aid, client care functions, adolescent development and special needs of seniors.
- Computer proficiency required; including the ability to use e-mail, navigate the internet, and complete basic data entry in an electronic health record system.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Cover as responsible staff person when needed, to include performing Trained Medical Assistant (TMA) duties such as medication passing, coordinating intakes and discharges with RN/MD, and providing basic health monitoring services. Missions Inc. will pay for TMA certification training for interested candidates.
Salary
$15.64 to $16.89/hr, based on your level of experience. We offer .40 cents differential pay for overnights and .50 cents for weekend shifts.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include 403b plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, ten paid holidays and PTO (paid time off).
