WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

We are excited to be opening back up to fully vaccinated volunteers for the safety of our clients and residents. Our volunteer community is so important to us and truly makes a difference in the lives of those experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, and those who are in recovery.

Please click the button below and fill out the form to help us match you with a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. Once we receive your volunteer interest form, a staff member will email you with the next steps and specific opportunities.

Note: If you are interested in volunteering at our Home Free Shelter, please note that we have filled our volunteer spots for the spring/summer. Our next volunteer opportunity for Home Free will be in August 2022 with a minimum of 100 volunteer hours. If you would like us to reach out to you closer to that time, please fill out the volunteer form below and select “Domestic Violence” as your preferred interest. Thank you!

INTERNSHIPS

Thank you for your interest in an internship with Missions Inc. Programs!

With 125 years in the community, we continue to affirm human worth; foster self-determination; value diversity; and seek social justice in all our programs by serving those escaping domestic violence, seeking chemical dependency services and supportive housing, and more.

Your internship with Missions Inc. Programs will provide you with valuable skills, knowledge, and experience in your chosen profession. In addition, you will be part of a dedicated team whose commitment to our mission and their work instills hope, healing and transformation in the hearts of the people we serve.

Intern Requirements

Requirements

Individual internship positions will have unique requirements, but in general, requirements for entering the Missions Inc. Programs Internship Program include:

At least 2 years since receiving services from the Missions Inc. program where the internship will take place and at least 1 year since receiving services from any other Missions Inc. program;
Able to commit to at least 100 internship hours; and
Work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

Intern Positions

Home Free Shelter:

Provide information and resources to residents of our domestic violence shelter.

Hours: Weekdays, evenings and weekends

Home Free Community Program:

Provide support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence throughout the civil and criminal legal processes.

Hours: Weekdays 7:30 am -3:30 pm

Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management Center:

Work with staff to provide a therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing withdrawal from drugs or alcohol.

Hours: Weekdays, evenings and weekends

Mission Lodge:

Support residents experiencing chronic chemical dependency in developing goal plans; coordinate therapeutic and recreational activities for residents.

Hours: Weekdays, evenings
